Today, Senator Max Baucus (D-MT), Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, released his long-awaited healthcare reform bill entitled "America's Healthy Future Act of 2009". The Senate Finance Committee will begin meeting tomorrow to discuss the 223-page bill. The bill does not include a government-run public insurance option, but does include funding for the creation of non-profit, member-run health insurance companies under the Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP) program. Senators have until 5 p.m. on Friday to submit amendments.
